Included is Sherman Alexie's satiric dystopian narrative poem on how Indians provided the cure to cancer; Alootook Ipellie's story of a struggle between Innu shamans over a matter of adultery; Kimberly Blaeser's story about feuding brothers which ends with their re-union while facing a fire and a rogue a skunk at a fancy dog contest; and Louise Erdrich's story "Gramp Kaspaw's Ghost" (from Love Medicine), which like much of her other writing, addresses the links between spirit, earth and the self.
